Pete Nelson As a pastor, musician and evangelist, Pete Nelson’s worldwide travels have given him a unique perspective on the church as well as the global need for the gospel. Pete, though rebellious in his early teens, gave his life to the Lord in his senior year of high school. By nineteen, Pete was teaching Bible studies and was dedicated to youth evangelism and discipleship in Albuquerque New Mexico. During this time, Pete and two worship leaders from the youth group formed a band, The Kry. With the success of The Kry, Pete moved to Southern California. This began a six-year season of evangelism on a global level for Pete, traveling worldwide, preaching the gospel, and planting churches in Europe, the Balkans, Hungary, South America, Africa and Australia. During this time, Pete continued Bible teaching in Southern California, as well as speaking at conferences and retreats. Pete moved to Vail, Colorado, in 1998, to help plant a new church. In 2001, Pete became associate pastor at Crossroads Church of Denver where he taught and continued leading international short missions and church planting ventures. Pete returned to New Mexico in 2003, and was the Senior Pastor at Calvary of Albuquerque until 2006. Pete’s travels and ministry experience has given him a unique perspective on the church, as well as an appreciation for a broad variety of leadership styles. His vision is “to see every individual in the church be mobilized into a ministry…to discover God’s plan and purpose for their life. The great commission starts right here in our backyard…sharing Christ with a co-worker or planting a church on the other side of the world is no different in my mind.” Pete and Angie, with their three children, Isaac, Lauren, and Seth currently reside in Niwot, Colorado. Pete is the pastor of White Fields Community Church, in Longmont Colorado. |
